HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE IF THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD - HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE TO TELL THEM - HOW CAN SOMEONE TELL THEM IF THEY HAVE NOT BEEN SENT.

Romans 10:14-16

OUR STORY

In May, 2020, we received word that a well-known Nigerian missionary leader, his wife, and others had been shot inside their home while at prayer. A retired American missionary who had worked in that same region and was a mutual friend of theirs and ours, asked if we would join her in praying for their recovery and perhaps help with their medical expenses, which we did. Over the next months and years we became more familiar with the extensive missionary and relief work that these Nigerian missionaries were directing throughout Nigeria and West Africa.
Eventually some of us visited them in Nigeria and were even more impressed seeing the work first-hand. While in Africa, we also came in contact with other indigenous Nigerian and West African missionaries and mission organizations. After returning to America, we told stories of what we had seen and many of our friends and family asked how they could participate as well. Eventually those experiences and much prayer gave birth to Sharing the Mission, which is dedicated to partnering in the good and vital work that these African missionaries are doing in their region.

Board of Directors

Between us we have 120 years of experience in the fields of education and the building trades. For decades we’ve supported missionary efforts through personal financial support, by building missionary schools, by teaching at missionary schools, and by providing housing and assistance to missionaries when they are back in the USA. Sharing the Mission is a result of God speaking to our hearts, our friendship of many years, and our shared desire that every person on the planet would have a chance to hear the Gospel. Our goal is to help send the Good News to every corner of the earth.

Small Works

Sharing the Mission is a small, all volunteer organization. We have no facilities costs and very low overhead. Our core donors have committed to paying the small costs of operation that we do have so that 100% of donations for missionaries and outreach projects go directly to those purposes. While we are small, we are also committed to personal communication with donors and transparency. If there is anything you want to know, just ask.

WE BELIEVE

Sharing the Mission exists to support indigenous Christian missionaries working in West Africa.  We are not associated with any particular denomination, but are open to cooperating with any Christian organization spreading the historic Christian faith in West Africa. All of our board members are active participants in local denominationally affiliated churches in their communities, but they are not all of the same denomination.

Our beliefs align with the Nicene Creed and the Lausanne Covenant
