STM Update - July 30, 2025
Construction has begun on the Kauna Home orphanage expansion, thanks to generous donors giving through STM. The project is located at the center of the AMEN Missionary Training Base in Plateau State, Nigeria. The Google photo is not current - the arrow points to the location of the project which has now been cleared of trees. Footings for the foundation are being dug by hand and additional materials that are needed for this stage are being brought in by truck. Pastor Nnaji is heading up the project. We will keep you updated on the progress.

STM Update - May 15, 2025
As of today, we have less than $5000 to raise to fully fund the Kauna Home expansion. We are hoping to complete the fund raising by the end of June.
Original Post - April 1, 2025
As noted in the recent March 2025 STM Newsletter, Kauna Home is expanding. Funds have been raised in Nigeria, and even before we announced that STM would be supporting this project, funds began to come in from STM supporters. The total cost of the project is around $26,000. Of that we still need to find around $10,000, and we believe that friends of STM will want to help. The funds already in Nigeria are sufficient to get the project started, but it would be best if all the funds were available by the end of May.
The current capacity of Kauna Home is about 35 children, although there are 59 residing there now. The expansion will increase the total capacity to around 130 children, without being too crowded. Of course, this does not meet the need even in the local area with 5000 fatherless children identified in just the nearby IDP camps. There are many, many others. But this is a major endeavor to show the love of Jesus in very difficult circumstances.
Kauna Home provides food, clothing, shelter in a relatively safe location, a Christian home atmosphere, and a Christian education for fatherless children. The majority of these children lost their father (and often also their mother) in attacks on their Christian villages. They sometimes exist for years in IDP Camps because their villages have been destroyed and their communities dispersed. It is a ministry of Bege for Gobe (B4G) which is focussed on the fatherless and widows, especially those who are brothers and sisters in Christ.
If you would like to help, any method you have used to donate in the past is still fine.
